What are TENS/EMS electrotherapy medical devices?

The four cutting-edge technologies are applied to the HealthmateForever TENS and Power Muscle Stimulator

HealthmateForever medical devices, the combined TENS and PMS adopt bio-electricity technology to make our device interactive with the human body and send electrical impulses throughout the body;human body simulation technology to simulate ancient Chinese therapeutic techniques/methods, which have been proven to be effective for pain relief for up to 5000 years; TENS and muscle stimulation technology to produce motor and muscle contraction for muscle reconditioning, strengthening or relaxation; modern programming technology in a compact pocket size design, make it convenient and portable for use, user friendly.

The drug-free non invasive pain relief TENS/EMS/PMS system is equipped with  manual modes (simulation massage techniques/methods), delivering specific treatment techniques and automatic modes, using pre-programmed electric pulses, to optimally provide therapeutic results ranging from soft tissue or deep-tissue stimulation to invigorating muscle-building, to soothing relaxation.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory believes where there is pain, there is acupuncture point which helps unblock the blockage of passage (meridians in the body) and helps micro circulation of blood, oxygen, nutrition and energy etc.

What are TENS/EMS electrotherapy medical devices?

On the market, there is the combined TENS and EMS known as NMES or Neuromuscular electrical stimulation.

Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) / NeuroprostheticsNeuromuscular Electrical Stimulation or NMES uses a device that sends electrical impulses to nerves. This input causes muscles to contract. The electrical stimulation can increase strength and range of motion, and offset the effects of disuse. It is often used to “re-train” or “re-educate” a muscle to function and to build strength after a surgery or period of disuse.

HealthmateForever was the first company to have the patent design the similar size of an iPod and first digital TENS/EMS unit with backlight in August 2012. HealthmateForever was the first to design the isolated independent intensity control in both AB channels digital TENS/EMS units as well.

The first one to design Touch Screen TENS/EMS units in 2014.

We are proud to be in a leading place in the innovative pocket size digital TENS EMS unit line. All the copyrights and patent are reserved by Healthmate International, LLC. We take legal action against any infringed or counterfeit products.

What is the difference between the 1st and 2nd edition devices?

How does the combined TENS/EMS electrical muscle stimulator work?

Simply place the electrode pads over your targeted painful area or acupuncture points or acupressure points, select the setting that’s right for you, and increase intensity as high level as you can stand or feel comfortable. The drug-free non invasive pain relief TENS/EMS/PMS system is equipped withmanual modes (simulation massage methods), delivering specific treatment techniques and automatic modes, using pre-programmed electric pulses, to optimally provide therapeutic results ranging from soft tissue or deep-tissue stimulation to invigorating muscle-building, to soothing relaxation.

The TENS/EMS/PMS electronic pulse massagers are State of the Art electronic hands-free portable medical devices.  These medical devices are used by chiropractors, massage therapists, physicians, neurologists, athletes or personal trainers, now for everyone self-care at the comfort of home, indoor or outdoor.

The TENS/EMS/PMS electrotherapy devices combine Traditional Chinese acupuncture therapy with soft tissue or deep tissue massage sensations to efficiently relieve tension and severe discomfort of the body without drugs or side effects. It sends bio-electric pulses directly to the muscle tendons and sore joints to reduce chronic or acute pain symptoms and inflammation. It also helps pain relief during post surgery recovery or physical rehab. After stimulation, the local blood circulation can be improved, thereby speeding up local tissue metabolism, increasing tissue nutrition, and promoting the absorption of inflammatory substances.

What therapeutic solutions does TENS/EMS/PMS electrotherapy device provide?

When the electrode pads directly are in the targeted area through regular contraction of the muscle, it can accelerate micro-circulation, and promote the absorption of inflammatory substances.

-Needle-free acupuncture: Treat from acupuncture points to unblock blockage of Chi and blood, refer to placement points in the acupuncture chart or manual when you treat targeted area.

-Natural pain relief: Stimulate the production of endorphins which is a natural painkiller in the body.

-Natural antibody: Stimulate the production of antibody which is natural antibiotics. Improve blood circulation and reduces inflammation by circulating inflammatory substances out of the body.

-Natural energy: stimulate from acupuncture points along energy meridian, improve micro-circulation of Chi to promote energy. There are additional ways to gain

-Active Muscle Toning: Through electronic pulses like those produced by the brain to stimulate muscle tissue during intense exercise, deliver a vigorous work-out to improve muscle tone and performance.

-Stress and Anxiety Relief: offers pre-programmed modes designed to simulate a soothing massage at the muscle-tissue level, promoting stress and anxiety relief and general relaxation.

Newly developed innovative traditional Chinese therapy device came out as TENS/PMS devices are for pain management, promote energy level, fitness and wellness.

“The statistics, according to the National Center for Health, show that chronic pain results in a loss of productivity of nearly $100 billion a year.”

“More than 76.2 million Americans suffer some sort of chronic pain daily, but there are solutions, and many of them are drug-free. Plenty of people are using tiny portable devices that treat pain by sending electronic currents through the skin.”

“One in four Americans suffer from chronic pain, that’s 76.2 million of us in America has solid suffers. But the answer might be a new device, about the size of an iPod, which promises relief for the most of unbearable pain. It’s an innovation on our traditional technology.

HealthmateForever TENS and EMSwith various electrical pulsating frequency waveforms (up to 40 modes) is different from other western traditional analog TENS & EMS on the market, which mostly provides one “constant ” or two different sensations, however, eventually, your body gets used to it like becoming immune from the constant taking of antibiotics. Once your body gets accustomed to that one particular sensation, it will eventually stop responding to it. On the other hand, our TENS & EMS produces various kinds of massage sensations randomly so that your muscles are always in for the best result possible every time you use it.

What kind of technology do TENS/EMS electronic pulse massagers use?

HealthmateForever TENS and power muscle stimulator combined human body simulation technology to imitate ancient Chinese therapy techniques, bioelectricity technology, and modern programming technology with traditional TENS EMS technology. Our TENS and EMS with various electrical pulsating waveforms (up to 40 modes) is different from other western traditional analog TENS & EMS on the market, which mostly provides one “constant ” or two different sensations, however, eventually, your body gets used to it like becoming immune from the constant taking of antibiotics. Once your body gets accustomed to that one particular sensation, it will eventually stop responding to it. On the other hand, our TENS & EMS produces various kinds of massage sensations randomly so that your muscles are always in for the best result possible every time you use it.

How to take care of the replacement electrode massage pads?

Before applying massage pads, clean your skin first before you apply pads in pair. If the pads become dry, apply few drops of tap water or hand sanitizer to moisture pads. If the pads are too sticky due to local humidity, you may put the sealed pads in the cool fridge to last longer.Never leave the pads unattended, disclosure to the direct sunlight.

Depending on the frequency and time of use, the electrode pads may shorten the life of use, normally it can last from one month to several months. If you find the pads lose their adhesiveness, you can simply apply a small amount of moisture to make them adhesive again, or if the pads are worn out, then it is time to replace the pads. Replacement electrode pads can be ordered in the accessory tab under shop. To change the pads, just unsnap the button on the back of the pads and snap on the new pads, if it is pin inserted pads, just disconnect them and inserted a new pin pads.  Once you put a new set of pads on, the device will work like new again.

The electrode pads are not sticking, what should I do?

Make sure that the protective plastic covering the massage pads have been removed before you apply the pads to skin at the treatment area. The electrode pads are water activated. Before each use, use finger tips to get some tap water and moisture the water onto each pad on adhesive side, then shake the pads for 3-5 times, the pads will become half dry and half wet, it will be sticky again, apply the pads to the skin at the targeted area. Make sure that the pads are firmly attached to the skin for better conductivity and adhesiveness.

Remove the old pads and replace with new pads about once a month to ensure maximum effectiveness. Also, remember to place the pads back pads holder or plastic bag right after each use to keep clean and moisture for next use.

Note: Snap-on electrode pads are only compatible with our snap-on dual-leads wires that are included in the kit in any device models excluding CT15AB, ZT15AB, YK15RC, and YK15AB. If you accidentally order the inserted pads, just need to buy  PIN-INSERT to SNAP-ON ADAPTER / CONVERTER

Inserted pin electrode pads are compatible with HealthmateForever CT15AB, ZT15AB, YK15RC or YK15AB TENS EMS units. If you accidentally order the snap on pads, just need to buy  SNAP-ON to PIN-INSERT ADAPTER / CONVERTER

Attention: We are not responsible for pads from non HealthmateForever supplier which are not tested to be compatible with HealthmateForever devices.

Why do I feel stinging sensations from the electrode pads sometimes?

The pads must be moist and sticky to work. Pads that are not moist enough will produce a weak and stinging sensation. Before each use dip your finger into some drops of tap water and rub the water onto the massage pads. Apply the pads  to your skin when they are half wet and half dry.

Make sure that the pads are firmly attached to the skin for better conductivity and adhesiveness.

Worn out pads may also cause a stinging sensation. Replace the pads as needed. Even when you feel stinging sensations, you may just need to make sure that the pads are moist with water on the adhesive side of the pads.

I can barely feel anything from the electrode pads, what is wrong?

Check the wire connection to the pads and make sure the plug is securely plugged. Make sure the batteries are in excellent condition. Check the pads are moist and not worn out. Turn the switch off then turn on again. Please make sure both pads attach to same person’s body at the same treatment targeted area in order to feel the same sensation. Generally, increasing the intensity level gradually till you feel sensation strong enough, but comfortable.

I have a pacemaker, is this instrument safe for me to use?

No, unfortunately, the unit is not recommended to be used by those with a pacemaker. If you have a heart condition but are not wearing a heart pacemaker, then it is safe for you to use it.

Where can I apply the pads?

Apply pads to anywhere except heart, brain area or hernia. We recommend some common massage points in the manual for most effective relaxation on your body. The best way to relieve your pain is to find the pain points with fingers and apply the pads there.

Apply the pads on or around the painful area always making sure a pair of same size pads are on nerves or muscles. The best way to relieve your pain is to find the pain points where you apply the pads.

What is the difference between TENS and EMS or PMS or Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) / Neuroprosthetics Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation or NMES?

TENS Unit vs EMS/PMS Unit vs Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) / Neuroprosthetics Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation or NMES

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulations (TENS) are safe non-invasive, drug-free methods of pain management. TENS is currently one of the most commonly used forms of electroanalgesia. The TENS device relieves pain by sending small electrical impulses through electrodes placed on the skin to underlying nerve fibers. TENS works by two different mechanisms.

First, electrical stimulation of the nerve fibers can block a pain signal from being carried to the brain. If the signal is blocked, pain is not perceived.

Secondly, the body has its own mechanism for suppressing pain. It does this by releasing natural compounds called endorphins which act as analgesics.

By effectively managing pain without drugs, TENS allows many people with chronic pain conditions, to resume daily activity. TENS has proven to be beneficial in the treatment of acute and chronic pain caused by pain-related medical conditions. When TENS is used as an analgesic, patients are instructed to try different frequencies and intensities to find those that provide them with the best pain control. Optimal settings of stimulus parameters are subjective and are determined by trial and error.

Who Can Benefit? Those who need natural drug free pain relief.

Electrical Muscle Stimulator (EMS), now called Powered Muscle Stimulator (PMS) is intended to stimulate healthy muscles in order to improve or facilitate muscle performance.

-Relaxation of muscle spasms

-Prevention or retardation of disuse atrophy

-Increasing local blood circulation

-Muscle conditioning

-Immediate post-surgical stimulation of calf muscles to prevent venousthrombosis

-Maintaining or expanding the range of motion

Who Can Benefit? Those who need muscle reconditioning or relaxation via electrical muscle stimulation.

Combined TENS and EMS, also known as Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) / NeuroprostheticsNeuromuscular Electrical Stimulation or NMES uses a device that sends electrical impulses to nerves. This input causes muscles to contract. The electrical stimulation can increase strength and range of motion, and offset the effects of disuse. It is often used to “re-train” or “re-educate” a muscle to function and to build strength after a surgery or period of disuse.

Neuroprosthetics/Functional Electrical Stimulation refers to the use of electrical stimulation during a task. This can include walking or using an arm to reach. For example, “foot drop” is a common problem for a child with a neurological injury. The child has difficulty picking up his or her toes when walking. This may result in decreased walking speed, decreased step length, and tripping. FES can be applied to the muscles that lift the foot at the correct time during the walking cycle, which can help the child to lift and clear the foot when walking. This may result in increased strength of those muscles and increased range of motion at the ankle joint. FES can also improve safety, ease, and efficiency with walking.

Who Can Benefit?General NMES: Children who need to gain strength or range in a certain muscle group may benefit from this service (e.g. post-surgery or general muscle weakness).Neuropresthetics: Children who may benefit from the use of these devices include those with foot drop while walking or difficulty grasping. This may include conditions such as stroke, cerebral palsy, brain injury, traumatic brain injury, or incomplete spinal cord injury.

Can I adjust the intensity?

Yes, you can increase the intensity of two channels or one of the channels from low to high or decrease intensity from high to low by pressing the intensity button "+" or intensity button "-" gradually per your needs till you feel comfortable.

How do HealthmateForever wireless TENS reduce pain?

It sends out multiple electrical waveforms through the electrodes to relieve pain which just as traditional TENS units do. A gentle electrical current is passed through electrodes which are attached to the skin near the site of the pain or discomfort. The pulses send electrical pulses through the central nervous system, thus blocking pain. But Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory believes where there is pain, there is acupuncture point which helps unblock the blockage of passage (meridians in the body) and helps micro circulation of blood, oxygen, nutrition and energy etc.

Do all HealthmateForever TENS units have wireless feature?

No. First, you have to check the sticker on the back of each device to see if it has wireless icon. Second, the device must have a USB portal to connect with the transmitter.

What’s included in a single wireless Wi-9 kit?

The kit includes 1 wireless receiver, 2 sets of self-adhesive electrode pads, 1 transmitter, and 1 instruction manual. No control unit is included in the kit.

How far can the wireless TENS reach?

The wireless TENS can transmit up to 30 feet.

Do I need to have Wi-Fi for using wireless unit?

The wireless unit does not require WiFi for it to work as we have wireless technology to connect from control unit to wireless pads receiver.

Do HealthmateForever products require a Doctor’s prescription (RX)?

Nope. All HealthmateForever TENS devices are FDA Cleared Over the Counter (OTC) devices.
